Huawei P Smart vs P20 vs P20 Lite

I was lucky enough to receive two more Huawei phones to test this week, nicely overlapping with my P Smart review - so how do the 3 compare? Here are my initial findings.
Packaging

The packaging for the P20 and P20 lite follows the same minimalist design as the P Smart, which is no bad thing. The foiled text adds a nice premium touch.
Design
They all share the same design language, with only slight differences in buttons and screen shape. Huawei are onto a winning formula here, so it makes sense to roll it out in various specs and price-points.

All 3 are similarly sized, but the "notch" on the P20 and P20 lite gives slightly more screen size to those handsets. The P Smart and P20 lite feature the same rear mounted finger print scanner which I found to be excellent during my testing. The P20 has a front mounted scanner with "smart touch navigation". Finally the P Smart sticks with Micro USB, while the P20 and lite use the newer USB C (the P20 also ditches the 3.5mm audio jack unfortunately).

Specs
As you can see, visually there is not a lot to tell the phones apart, so it will be the specs and determine which one you buy, details below:

That's all for now, time to give them a thorough test.
